As reported by Foot Mercato, German champions Bayern Munich have entered the race to sign Sevilla’s Moroccan international goalkeeper, Yassine Bounou, this summer.
The outlet reports that David De Gea’s departure from Manchester United forced a game of goalkeeping musical chairs as United replaced the Spanish keeper with Inter Milan’s Andre Onana. Inter have, in turn, identified Bayern Munich’s second-choice stopper, Yann Sommer, as a replacement meaning Bayern are also looking for goalkeeping options as the returning Manuel Neuer’s position remains unclear.
As a result, Munich have landed on Bounou, who enjoyed a superb World Cup with eventual semi-finalists Morocco last winter, having also made overtures for Brentford’s Spanish international, David Raya. Talks between the parties are progressing well, say the outlet, with the 32-year-old Sevilla keeper now the Bundesliga side’s first choice. The La Liga side, however, are demanding €20m to sell Bounou (who also drew interest from PSG this summer), with Bayern still reluctant to agree.
