Benjamin Pavard wants to leave Bayern Munich

With his contract expiring at the end of next season and no sign of renewal talks this past campaign, Benjamin Pavard’s future at Bayern Munich has looked increasingly uncertain over the past few months.

This afternoon, L’Équipe have confirmed initial reporting from Sky Sport Germany that the defender has no intention of signing another contract with the Bavarians, and wants to leave the club.

His agent, Joseph Mohan, recently met with the German champions’ Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidžić – before the former midfielder was dismissed from his position after the final day of the campaign. Talks are set to open with the new management, but the former Lille man nevertheless wants to leave anyway.

The World Cup winner, who won his fourth consecutive Bundesliga title last weekend, would like to go to a club that will play him in his favoured centre-back position, as has been the case this spring under Thomas Tuchel. Several clubs around the continent are said to be interested, including Barcelona.
