Benoît Badiashile’s Chelsea transfer set to be confirmed

Fabrizio Romano reports that Benoît Badiashile’s (21) move from AS Monaco to Chelsea is set to be completed imminently.

The two clubs have been in negotiations since before the turn of the new year, and have settled on a fee of around €38m. The player has long since had an agreement to join the London club, as revealed by sources contacted by Get French Football News.

As Romano confirmed, Badiashile underwent his Chelsea medical earlier this week, and it is the Italian journalist’s understanding that all the documents have been signed, and all that is left is the officialisation of the move.

Get French Football News were present at Monaco training in La Turbie on Thursday morning and can confirm that Badiashile was absent, alluding to his imminent departure. The French defender came through the academy at the Principality side, amassing close to 150 appearances for the club. This season, he also made his France debut, featuring twice for Les Bleus during the September international break.
