According to Foot Mercato, Brighton are interested in SCO Angers left-back Souleyman Doumbia (26), whose contract with the Ligue 1 club expires this summer.
However, the Seagulls aren’t the only club interested. Another English club, a Greek club and a German club are all interested in the player, although the identities of these clubs are yet to be revealed.
Doumbia has nailed down the left-back spot at Angers, featuring 16 times for the club this season. He forms part of an Angers side that are heavily tipped for relegation, with the club currently rock-bottom of Ligue 1. The club could also lose World Cup stars Azzedine Ounahi and Sofiane Boufal this January.
Whilst it is possible that Doumbia will see out the remainder of his contract and leave on a free in the summer, a departure before the 31st January is also possible. Foot Mercato report that Brighton like his profile, and could quickly make an offer.
