Burnley prioritise move for PSG midfielder Fabián Ruiz

Having joined Paris Saint-Germain from Napoli during last year’s summer transfer window, Fabián Ruiz has had a difficult first season in France – but one which has nevertheless ended in a league title win.

The Spaniard’s season ended last week following an adductor issue – just as he had been finding his feet – after 37 appearances, having chipped in with three goals and two assists.

According to Foot Mercato this evening, the Spaniard could become the latest PSG struggler to make a move to the Premier League, after Pablo Sarabia’s move to Wolves this past January.

Specifically, recently-promoted Burnley have made the former Real Betis man their top target for the summer, and PSG are prepared to part ways with the player they paid €25m for if the offer is right. The only obstacle, however, would be the fact that Ruiz has no intention of leaving the French capital for the time being, not least given his five-year contract that earns him €5m a year. The Clarets, who are managed by Vincent Kompany, will need to win over the Spaniard before a move becomes possible.
