The lawyer of Christophe Galtier has denied that the current Paris Saint-Germain manager made discriminatory remarks during his time as manager of OGC Nice.
Speaking to AFP, Galtier’s lawyer “denies in the strongest terms” the alleged remarks, which appeared in an alleged leaked email, first reported by Romain Molina, and then corroborated by RMC Sport. In the alleged email, it is claimed that Galtier, managing PSG at the time, complained about the number of black and Muslim players in Les Aiglons’ squad. In the alleged email, sent by Fournier, Galtier also took issue with players fasting during the month of Ramadan.
Fournier was the first to address the leak. Speaking to Nice-Matin, the former Nice Sporting Director, who left the club in the summer, just before Galtier departed for PSG, complained about the “timing” and the “contents” of the leak. Galtier’s lawyer has now denied the claims, whilst according to RMC Sport, PSG have launched an internal investigation into the accusations of racism levelled at Galtier from his time at Nice.
