Denis Zakaria nearing Monaco move

Ignazio Genuardi is reporting that Denis Zakaria (26) is nearing a move to Ligue 1 side AS Monaco. The Principality club have moved ahead of West Ham United in the race to sign the Juventus midfielder.

Whilst West Ham had looked in pole position to sign Zakaria, who spent last season on loan at Premier League rivals Chelsea, the midfielder now looks close to a move to Ligue 1. The Swiss international has attracted a lot of interest from France. RC Lens, Stade Rennais and RC Strasbourg Alsace, now owned by BlueCo, were all in the race to sign Zakaria.

However, ultimately, he now looks set to join Monaco, according to Genuardi. A deal worth around €20m is set to be struck, and the player himself must green light the deal. It is unclear at present whether he will partner or replace Youssouf Fofana, who had been expected to leave the Principality club this summer. No concrete advances have yet been made for the France international.
