Speaking to the press ahead of France’s international break fixtures against the Netherlands and Ireland, France manager Didier Deschamps spoke about Nice centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo and his progress in Ligue 1, even if he is a player that he did not select for March’s games. The following was transcribed by RMC Sport.
Deschamps spoke about Todibo’s career, saying that “He is one of those players who has not had a linear path. He left for Barça at a young age, and then he was loaned out a lot with varying degrees of success.” He then spoke of a progression of the player, despite not selecting him to represent Les Bleus this month, “At Nice, he gained confidence. Did he lose time? It must have helped him to gain experience.”
Whilst Wesley Fofana dropped out of the France squad due to injury, Monaco’s Axel Disasi was called up for the national team ahead of Todibo. For Nice, Todibo has played 26 games in Ligue 1 this season for the Gym.
