Djed Spence and Joe Rodon, both on loan at Rennes, to return to Tottenham

Speaking to Ouest-France, Stade Rennais Technical Director Florian Maurice has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur duo Djed Spence (22) and Joe Rodon (25) will both return to the London club upon the expiry of their loan deals in Ligue 1.

Spence, who has suffered a season-ending injury, has already returned to Tottenham. The England U21 international has made a fairly meagre impact during his time at the Roazhon Park. Having arrived at the end of January, he has played just eight matches in Ligue 1, and he hasn’t started a match since 19th March.

Rodon, who arrived in the summer, has clocked up more minutes but has still only played 20 matches in all competitions. His last appearance in Ligue 1 came against FC Toulouse on 12th February. Like Spence, Rodon won’t be retained by Rennes and will return to Tottenham upon the expiry of his loan. Karl Toko-Ekamni, who arrived on loan from Olympique Lyonnais in January is also expected to return to his parent club.

Maurice added that he is “confident” that Loïc Badé (23) will remain at Sevilla, where he has flourished after a disappointing loan spell at Nottingham Forest earlier in the season. The Frenchman has previously told L’Équipe that he is open to remaining at the Spanish side.
