L’Équipe are reporting that Montpellier forward Elye Wahi (20) has returned to training after sustaining a knee injury last week, which ruled him out of Saturday’s draw (1-1) against RC Lens in Ligue 1.
The France youth international sustained the injury during training last week when making a pass with the outside of his foot. Wahi then underwent tests on Monday, confirming a sprain, which had already been evoked by manager Michel Der Zakarian.
However, Wahi, who is currently attracting attention from clubs across Europe such as Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund, and who recently switched agents, is already back in training. As reported by L’Équipe, Wahi was involved in Tuesday’s session, although the knee in question was heavily strapped.
A decision will be taken later in the week on whether he will feature in the Montpellier squad to face SCO Angers on Sunday, but there is optimism around the club that he will be fit for the tie.
