Enzo Le Fée admits he is thinking about a summer departure from Lorient

FC Lorient midfielder Enzo Le Fée (23) has admitted that he is already thinking about a summer departure in an exclusive interview with L’Équipe

Le Fée has been one of the standout players in a Lorient side that have overperformed this season. Under the stewardship of Régis Le Bris, Les Merlus have defied expectations, and were for a large part of the season, in the European places. They have since dropped back, but are still in the top half of the Ligue 1 table, whilst many had tipped the club for relegation this season.

Players such as Terem Moffi and Dango Ouattara have already left the club, as this exciting and youthful side is slowly picked apart. Le Fée is naturally a player that will interest many clubs, evidenced by OGC Nice’s reported interest in the player. German clubs have also been linked the France U21 international in the past.

Now, Le Fée has admitted that he is already thinking about what comes next. Asked whether he is planning on leaving Lorient, he replied, “Yes, clearly. I never wanted to leave Lorient by the back door. We have had a great season and I know that these coming months will be important if I want to go to a big club. As I have a very collective profile, I know that if I play well, the team plays well. I want to really setup up a level and I’m trying to put everything in place to be prepared if it happens.”

Asked if that meant a departure in the summer, he added, “Yes. I am someone who likes challenges, and risks as well. I want to show that I’m capable of playing at the highest level.” Le Fée is hoping to showcase his talents during this summer’s U21 European Championships. “We have a team that has the qualities to win the Euros. Naturally, winning it doesn’t go unnoticed. That could open up some big doors for me this summer,” said the Lorient midfielder.
