Having left Reims last summer for La Liga, Malian striker El Bilal Touré has enjoyed a career-best campaign with Almería, finding the net seven times as the Andalusians staved off relegation by the skin of their teeth.
The 21-year-old’s performances have not gone unnoticed beyond Spain, with reports of interest from Wolves already emerging back in May. Now, Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri indicates that another Premier League club in Everton have triggered the forward’s €40m release clause and offered him a five-year deal.
Tavolieri adds that Nottingham Forest and Fulham could also join the race for his signing, while Serie A sides are also interested, but have yet to make any concrete moves.
In his two full seasons in Ligue 1, Touré had scored a combined six goals, and was notably absent from the start of pre-season training in July 2021 as part of a push for a transfer – an issue which was eventually resolved later in the summer.
