Exclusive | Lyon’s Houssem Aouar signs contract ahead of Roma move

Get French Football News understands that Houssem Aouar (24) has completed a medical ahead of a move to Serie A side AS Roma, whilst all the contracts have also been signed.

Aouar, who has been selected to represent the Algerian international team for the first time, will leave formative club Olympique Lyonnais at the end of the season on a free.

RMC Sport revealed back in April that the former France international was in talks with Roma, as well as Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt. Aouar will now join the former having passed a medical and has already signed a four-year deal with the Serie A club with the option of a further year, according to sources contacted by Get French Football News.

Aouar has endured a difficult final season at the Groupama Stadium and has found game time difficult to come by. He has made 18 appearances in all competitions, but many of those have come from the bench. Having slipped down the pecking order with Les Gones, he will be looking to refind his best form in the Italian capital next season.
