French FA general director Florence Hardouin suspended

L’Équipe report that the French Football Federation executive committee has decided to suspend Florence Hardouin from her role as general director. Current legal director and deputy-general director Jean Lapeyre could be set to take over in an interim role.

The executive committee already called president Noël Le Graët, who was today forced to step back as president of the French FA, to push out the general director during a meeting in October.

Her relationship has been tense for several months with Le Graët. Yet the pair are inextricably linked at the heart of a controversy which has plagued the Federation since the publication of So Foot‘s investigation into the insipid culture of bullying and alcoholism.

The investigation, along with revelations made by journalist Romain Molina place Hardouin at the centre, and symbolic of, a culture of alchohol problems and a tough management style  which were added to further accusations of sexual misconduct and harassment levelled at president Le Graët himself.
