Hugo Ekitike wants to remain at PSG

Foot Mercato are reporting that Hugo Ekitike (20) wants to remain at Paris Saint-Germain, despite a difficult first season with the Ligue 1 champions.

Ekitike joined PSG, his childhood club, in the summer, despite more substantial financial offers from other clubs, notably from Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle United. His move from Stade de Reims is a loan deal that includes an obligation to make the deal permanent at the end of the season. Ekitike has scored just four goals in 27 appearances in all competitions this season. Since January, the France youth international has seen his gametime heavily reduced.

However, there is not yet a question of a departure. The player himself is determined to succeed at the club of his dreams, whilst Luís Campos has not spoken about the possibility of Ekitike leaving at the end of the season. The Frenchman is under contract with Les Parisiens until 2027, and with Neymar’s injury and Lionel Messi’s long-term future, there is reason for Ekitike to be hopeful of earning more gametime between now and the end of the season, and beyond.
