Inter negotiating with Bayern to sign Manchester United target Benjamin Pavard

According to Fabrizio Romano, Inter and Bayern Munich have been in direct contact today to negotiate a deal for French international defender Benjamin Pavard (27). Inter have made the versatile defender their key defensive target this summer.

A new round of talks between the two clubs kicked off today after Inter submitted a bid worth a reported €25m on Thursday. Manchester United are also interested in signing the 27-year-old this summer but Inter look to be stealing a march on the Premier League club in the race for his signature.

Pavard is pushing for a move away from the Allianz Arema this summer, but whether Inter will be able to agree a deal to sign him will be dependent on the final price tag. Inter are looking to bolster their defensive options ahead of the close of the summer window, following the departure of Milan Škriniar on a free transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
