Jean-Clair Todibo replaces Ibrahima Konaté in France squad

The French FA has announced this afternoon that Nice centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo has replaced Ibrahima Konaté in Didier Deschamps’ squad for Les Bleus’ upcoming double header of internationals.

Despite initially featuring in last week’s call-ups, the Liverpool defender will not be able to recover in time from a hamstring injury, and missed his team’s win over Aston Villa over the weekend. The 24-year-old, who has 11 appearances for France to his name, has made up the team’s starting centre-back pairing alongside Dayot Upamecano since the turn of the year.

The former Toulouse and Barcelona was previously called up to the senior national team for the first time back in March, and will be hoping to earn his first cap this month. Les Bleus take on Ireland at the Parc des Princes on Thursday as part of their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign, before travelling to Dortmund the following Tuesday face Germany in a friendly fixture.
