According to Foot Mercato, Manchester City have agreed personal terms with Stade Rennais winger Jérémy Doku (21), however, West Ham United are looking to hijack the deal, and have already submitted a verbal offer for the Belgian international.
Doku features on Manchester City’s shortlist to replace Riyad Mahrez, who left to join the Saudi top flight earlier this summer. Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise also featured on that shortlist, but Chelsea have triggered the France U21 international’s release clause, and a move to Stamford Bridge looks imminent.
Olympique Lyonnais’ Bradley Barcola is another name on the list, but the Cityzens are now making concrete steps to sign Doku. Foot Mercato report that an agreement between the player and Manchester City has been reached over a five-year contract. Doku wants a move to the Etihad Stadium, and City will soon enter talks with Rennes.
However, Premier League rivals West Ham United have already entered into discussions. In a bid to hijack the deal, the Hammers have submitted a verbal offer to Rennes. €50m-rated Doku’s Rennes contract expires in 2025.
