Jérôme Rothen criticises PSG’s interest in Victor Osimhen as “easy”

Speaking on RMC Sport, ex-PSG defender Jérôme Rothen has moved to be critical of PSG’s reported interest in Nigerian international striker Victor Osimhen and claimed that it is an “easy” possible target as PSG Sporting Advisor Luis Campos and coach Christophe Galtier both worked with him during their time together at Lille.

Osimhen, 24, made 27 appearances for the northern France outfit, scoring 13 goals in his one season with Les Dogues during the 2019/20 campaign.

“He is one of the best attackers in Europe today. But for me, this idea comes from a place of ease. Luis Campos and Christophe Galtier had him in Lille and they think that automatically he will also work in Paris.”

Rothen went on to point out that ex-Lille midfielder Renato Sanches, who joined PSG in summer for €15m, has failed to settle successfully in the French capital, describing the Portuguese international as “a little lost.”

“He has been very disappointing in relation to the investment [made].”

Napoli are expected to demand upwards of €100m for Osimhen, who is the talisman in their historic march towards the 2022/23 Serie A title. PSG Sporting Advisor Campos intends put a deal together that will include cash plus players in exchange in an attempt to convince Aurelio de Laurentiis to part with the player this summer.
