Juventus’ Massimiliano Allegri on Nantes: “A solid team with great technical abilities attacking-wise.”

Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri and Brazilian centre-back Bremer (25) faced the media the day before I Bianconeri host FC Nantes, for the first leg of their Europa League playoff at the Allianz Stadium. Les Canaris qualified for this round after finishing runners-up of Europa League group G. They were drawn against the Champions League Group H’s third-placed side in Juventus.

It would be fair to say that FC Nantes were of little interest for the Italian media as most of the press conference revolved around Juventus’ 15-point deduction, Paul Pogba’s injury, Federico Chiesa’s return or this weekend’s Serie A game against Spezia.

Still, Allegri had something to say about his opponents from France, lauding FC Nantes’ pace. “In their last ten games, they only lost against Marseille“, said Allegri on a press conference attended by Ouest-France. I don’t know if we are favorites for the two games. Nantes are a solid team with great technical abilities attacking-wise.” Allegri then respectfully spared a thought for Nantes striker Ignatius Ganago (23), who tragically lost his 5-year-old daughter to illness. With Juventus’ points deduction taking centre-stage during the press conference, Allegri reminded reporters that a Europa League title might just be the easiest to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
