Karim Benzema goes level with Marcelo as the most decorated player in Real Madrid’s history

Real Madrid won the 2023 Copa Del Rey final against Osasuna on Saturday night with a slender 2-1 victory. Right-sided winger and Brazilian international Rodrygo (22) scored a game-winning brace for Los Blancos, clinching Los Blancos third-placed LaLiga side have won their first Copa since 2014. Former France international and 2022 Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema (35) has now won his 25th title with Real Madrid. The Bron-born mercurial striker has gone level with Brazilian left-back Marcelo as the club’s most decorated player in history, as pointed out by L’Équipe.

Since he joined Real Madrid from formative club Lyon, Benzema has won four LaLiga titles (2012, 2017, 2020, 2022), three Copas del Rey (2011, 2014, 2023), four Spanish Super Cups (2012, 2017, 2019, 2022), four UEFA Super Cups (2014, 2016, 2017, 2022), five Club World Cups (2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2022) and five Champions Leagues (2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2022). Benzema can become the sole most decorated player in the club’s history should he lift the Champions League on June 10 at Istanbul’s Atatürk Stadium. Should he achieve such a feat, the striker will become the second-ever player to win the European Cup six times, after Real Madrid’s Francisco Gento.
