Karim Benzema scores on winning Al-Ittihad debut

In their debut for Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad, Karim Benzema (35) and N’Golo Kanté (32) made an instant impact, guiding the Saudi club to a 2-1 victory against Espérance Tunis in the Arab Club Champions Cup.

After Espérance Tunis took an early lead, Benzema assisted Hamdallah for the equalizer in the 35th minute. The former Real Madrid striker then showcased his scoring prowess with a magnificent curling shot from outside the box in the 55th minute, securing his first goal for Al-Ittihad.

Kanté, who recently joined from Chelsea, provided tenacity and stability in the midfield during the second half. The French duo’s promising start bodes well for Al-Ittihad’s future ambitions in both domestic and continental competitions. The pair of former France internationals will face CS Sfaxien in their next match for Al-Ittihad ine the Arab Club Champions Cup.
