Khéphren Thuram is Liverpool’s priority signing

Nice midfielder and France international Khéphren Thuram (22) is being considered a priority signing by Liverpool, according to a report from L’Équipe. The youngest son of legendary French defender Lilian Thuram is currently on international duty with France’s U21 side, with Les Bleuets gearing up for the European Championships.

Following the departures of James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keïta upon the expiry of their contracts this June, the Reds are planning a complete overhaul of Jürgen Klopp’s midfield. The work has already started with the €41m recruitment of Argentine Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister (24).

Talks for Thuram have been ongoing and are said to have accelerated in the last few weeks. The outlet reports that Thuram is not against leaving Nice, despite his attachment to the Riviera club. The young brother of Marcus Thuram (25) is reportedly enticed by the prospect of joining the Reds. The 22-year-old is tied to the INEOS-owned club until 2025.
