PSG forward and France skipper Kylian Mbappé (24) has an agreement in principle with Real Madrid to join Los Blancos in 2024 as a free agent, according to a report from Foot Mercato. Les Parisiens are currently facing a dilemma regarding the future of their prized asset. Mbappé indicated that he would not trigger his one-year contract extension with the Ligue 1 champions, meaning he would be a free agent come 2024. PSG have no intention to be at the mercy of Mbappé’s desires anymore and have given him a choice – renew his contract or leave PSG this summer to allow the club a mammoth transfer fee. However, Mbappé hinted at several occasions that he would run down his contract until 2024.
According to the outlet, Mbappé wants indeed to spend a final season in the French capital before joining Real Madrid one year from now. The Parisian and La Casa Blanca have already a “ready-made” agreement in this case. Should PSG and Real Madrid were to negociate a transfer fee this summer, Mbappé and Madrid have another agreement planned. There is another reason why Mbappé would remain at PSG for a seventh consecutive season as he is due a whopping €90m loyalty bonus come September.
Foot Mercato indicated that all the involved parties – Real Madrid, PSG and Mbappé – all have different timings and are prepared to play the waiting game. Les Parisiens have no intention to make the first move towards Real Madrid as they would appear weak. The French outlet understands that, should Mbappé be sold this summer, PSG would set an asking price valued between €180m and €200m.
