Foot Mercato are reporting that Olympique de Marseille and Lazio are in discussions over the transfer of Mattéo Guendouzi (24).
Guendouzi is expected to leave Marseille this summer, having fallen down the pecking order under new manager Marcelino. Geoffrey Kondogbia’s knee sprain isn’t expected to give Guendouzi a reprieve, however, the former Arsenal man’s options seem to be diminishing. As reported by L’Équipe earlier this month, Premier League interest in Guendouzi is waning, although there is still plenty of interest from Serie A.
Foot Mercato now report that Lazio are in discussions with Marseille over Guendouzi’s transfer, however, there is a gap in the club’s valuation currently. Les Phocéens are hoping for around €22m, however, Lazio are proposing €15m plus bonuses. The Serie A side must also find an agreement with the player’s representatives. However, Guendouzi is said to be open to a move to the Italian capital and negotiations between the clubs are advancing.
