Leicester City defensive midfielder Boubakary Soumaré (24) is set to leave the Championship side to join Sevilla FC on loan with an option to buy, according to a report this Friday from Foot Mercato.
Soumaré was not expected to stick around the King Power Stadium following the Foxes’ relegation into the Championship last season. The PSG youth product joined Leicester City two years ago from Lille in a €20m move. Soumaré went on to play 59 games for the Foxes, including 26 Premier League appearances last season.
Reports emerged yesterday that Lyon, Napoli and Inter Milan were interested in making a move for Soumaré. Now it appears that Sevilla FC have won the race to his signing. Foot Mercato understands that the struggling La Liga side will sign Soumaré on loan with an option to buy.
Sevilla have lost their first three opening games in the Spanish top flight. The Rojiblancos will play Atlético Madrid away on Sunday.
