Following this afternoon’s reports that Sergio Ramos had picked up an injury today, Paris Saint-Germain could have yet another major absentee for Sunday’s match against Rennes, with L’Équipe indicating that Lionel Messi was not at the training session.
The reason for the Argentine’s absence remains unknown. He had missed a couple of games last month as a result of a knee issue, while a calf problem temporarily stalled his impressive start to the campaign back in October. Overall, he has 13 goals and 13 assists this year, in what has been a much-improved showing following a middling first year in the French capital.
Christophe Galtier’s men travel host the Bretons on Sunday night with a ten-point cushion at the top of the table, but with a much-depleted squad: club captain Marquinhos remains out of action after a intercostal tear, while Achraf Hakimi is suffering from thigh pain and Nordi Mukiele has a similar issue on his calf and hamstring.
