During Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-0 win over Marseille in Le Classique Lionel Messi scored his 700th club goal as well as providing two assists for Kylian Mbappé. The Argentine has now scored 28 goals with PSG since joining in 2020, after scoring a heavy majority 672 goals with Barcelona.
In what was a pivotal night for PSG’s Ligue 1 title push, Christophe Galtier’s side enacted revenge at the Vélodrome following their Coupe de France exit several weeks ago – and Lionel Messi put in an important performance and showed a dramatic improvement on last week’s performance against Lille. The World cup winner constantly combined with Mbappé and orchestrated the visitors’ counter-attacks to devastating effect.
