L’Équipe report this afternoon that Lorient have agreed a contract renewal with Régis Le Bris, with the club management satisfied with the head coach’s first season in charge of the senior team after being promoted last summer following the departure of Christophe Pélissier.
The former defender, who has been at the club in various roles since 2012, starting as director of the youth academy, was previously under contract until 2025. The extension is set to add an extra year, and will be made official later on this afternoon, with the 47-year-old having put pen to paper on the deal in the last few days.
After an impressive start to the campaign – the Bretons were second only to Paris Saint-Germain for several weeks during the autumn – the team has recovered from losing both Terem Moffi and Dango Ouattara in January and returned to form. They now sit in eighth place, just six points off a potential European spot.
