Sud-Ouest report this evening that Lorient have submitted an offer worth €12m for Bordeaux winger Dilane Bakwa, with the Bretons looking to make an attacking signing before next week’s deadline after selling Dango Ouattara to Bournemouth, and Terem Moffi ostensibly on the way out.
Bakwa first appeared for the Girondins’ senior team during their past two seasons in Ligue 1, and has now become a first-team regular after the club’s relegation to the second tier. The French youth international has been a key part of the team’s promotion push, chipping in with three goals and three assists as they currently sit in second place.
The general policy at Bordeaux is to turn down any offers for their young players – with the financial situation of the club having improved – but talks with Lorient have not been shut just yet, following their €12m bid with a sell-on percentage. Bakwa himself does not want to leave, given he is ensured game time and is happy to see the season out at his formative club.
