Luís Campos building relationship with Chelsea with PSG future uncertain

Foot Mercato are reporting that Luís Campos is building a relationship with Premier League side Chelsea amidst an increasingly uncertain situation surrounding his role at Paris Saint-Germain.

Campos only joined PSG, but his role at the club is already under threat. The Portuguese freelancer oversaw an underwhelming summer window in the eyes of the PSG hierarchy and then failed to bring a single player through the door during the winter window.

Subsequently, Campos’ position at the club is threatened, and has been described by Foot Mercato as “almost untenable.” The Whilst the PSG hierarchy are reportedly considering Campos’ future, Campos himself is also considering leaving. He is not happy with the state of affairs at the club and was notably frustrated by the club’s performance. Campos also has “frustration and regrets” regarding the handling of the transfer window.

Within that context, Campos, who is hesitant to continue his collaboration with PSG, has begun building a relationship with Chelsea. There has been “permanent contact” between Campos and Chelsea since the beginning of the year. Chelsea’s interest in hiring Campos was first reported by Le Parisien in September, and it seems that the London club have retained that interest, despite numerous arrivals in hierarchal roles throughout the season.
