Lyon have issued an update on the health of manager Laurent Blanc, who was absent due to illness for the team’s win over Lens on Sunday night, with assistant coach Franck Passi instead taking charge for the game against the Artois side.
The former PSG and France coach has been undergoing treatment for a lung-related illness and is currently resting, with his condition improving day by day. In the meantime, Passi has been taking charge of training sessions.
Les Gones will be looking to continue their upturn in form – having now won three on the bounce in all competitions, led by the Alexandre Lacazette-Rayan Cherki pair up front – when they travel to face Auxerre on Friday.
Blanc made his return to French football back in October when he took over from Peter Bosz, and is looking to guide a Lyon resurgence and avoid the team missing out on European football for a third season in a row.
