According to Fabrizio Romano Lyon defender Malo Gusto has completed a medical with Premier League side Chelsea ahead of €30m move – he will be loaned back to Les Gones until the end of the season before linking up with Graham Potter’s squad in July.
The Frenchman landed in London early this morning, and is set to sign a contract which will run until June 2029.
He will miss out on Lyon’s trip to Ajaccio in Ligue 1 this weekend, following an agreement which was reached on Friday evening on a €30m move.
Laurent Blanc earlier this week told the press that he had been given assurances that both Malo Gusto and Rayan Cherki would be staying at Lyon at the end of the season. Whilst Gusto will eventually depart the club, it looks like one half of the bargain has (technically) been held up by Lyon hierarchy.
