Manu Koné unlikely to join Liverpool

Manu Koné is now very unlikely to join Liverpool this summer, according to  Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg. Previous reports have linked the Reds with a move for the French U21 international, but it now appears that a move to Anfield is off the table for the this summer.

Koné nevertheless sits on Liverpool’s shortlist, due to his what Plettenberg has d escribedas his “interesting profile“. However, as things stand, he is not considered a prime transfer target for the Reds. Instead, Koné’s international teammate Khéphren Thuram is a key target for Liverpool and the parties are moving closer to agreeing personal terms, according to sources contacted by Get French Football News

Despite a move to Liverpool looking unlikely this summer, Borussia Mönchengladbach are expecting to sell the Frenchman and will command a fee worth more than €30m to allow the 22-year-old to leave. At present though, Die Fohlen are yet to receive any concrete offers for Koné.
