Manuel Ugarte and Marco Asensio in Paris to complete PSG transfer

Paris Saint-Germain are set to imminently announce the signings of Sporting CP midfielder Manuel Ugarte (22) and free agent Marco Asensio (27).

Both the Uruguayan and the Spanish internationals are already in Paris to complete their transfers to PSG, according to a report from L’Équipe. Ugarte and Asensio are poised to meet the club’s hierarchy and put pen to paper over their respective contracts. The players’ agent Jorge Mendes is expected to join them today.

Asensio, a three-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid (2017, 2018 and 2022) has left Los Blancos as a free agent after refusing the club’s latest contract renewal bid. The Spanish international is expected to complete his medical in Paris and sign his contract. RMC Sport report that the striker will be tied with PSG until 2027. As for Ugarte, Paris Saint-Germain have found an agreement in principle with both the player and the club. Les Parisiens will pay the Uruguayan international’s €60m release clause. The 22-year-old midfielder will sign a five-year contract with the Ligue 1 champions and earn a salary worth €3m per year.
