Marco Verratti a doubt for PSG after knee injury

Paris Saint-Germain have indicated this morning that Marco Verratti’s absence from today’s training session is due a knee bruise, with the Italian remaining in the treatment room. He is now a doubt for the team’s trip to Auxerre on Sunday afternoon.

The 30-year-old, who could be set to leave this summer after eleven seasons in the French capital, will have once again seen injuries limit his playing time over the course of the campaign, limiting his league appearances to 26 so far.

PSG have not reported any other injury-related absences, barring the long-term unavailabilities of Neymar, Presnel Kimpembe, Nordi Mukiele and Nuno Mendes, all of whom are out until the end of the season.

The morning’s training session also saw Christophe Galtier return to take charge, with the manager having been absent the previous day over an unspecified health issue. Club president Nasser Al Khelaifi and Sporting Advisor Luís Campos were also present.
