Marseille enter race for Lorient’s Terem Moffi

L’Équipe are reporting that Olympique de Marseille have entered the race to sign FC Lorient striker Terem Moffi (23), who is also a target for Ligue 1 rivals OGC Nice, as well as West Ham United.

According to L’Equipe, Marseille are already working on the deal. Pablo Longoria and Javier Ribalta have both contacted the player’s entourage in order to lay the groundwork for a possible transfer. However, no offer is yet to be made, and it is accepted that it will be take a significant financial outlay to conclude a deal.

Nice hade been earmarked as the most likely destination for the Nigerian striker, who has st Ligue 1 alight this season with 12 goals. Only Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappé has scored more. It had been reported that three offers had been submitted by Les Aiglons, however, none of those are yet to be accepted.

What works in the favour of both Nice and Marseille is the player’s preference. According to multiple French publications, including France Ouest, Moffi would prefer to remain in France rather than move to England.
