Marseille play host to Lille in Ligue 1’s Saturday night kick-off at the Stade Vélodrome. Les Phocéens will be hoping to get back on track following their 1-0 away defeat to league leaders Nice last time out in Ligue 1. OM did return to winning ways in all competitions in their most recent match against AEK Athens in the Europa League.
L’Équipe reports that Gennaro Gattuso is set to make two changes from OM’s Europa League 3-1 victory against AEK Athens. One of these two changes is a forced change with Leonardo Balerdi suspended for Marseille’s match against Les Dogues. This should see Samuel Gigot replace the Argentina international in the centre of defence. The other change should see Pau López replacing Rubén Blanco between the sticks.
With the two changes in defence, this means Gattuso should name an unchanged midfield of Jordan Veretout, Valentin Rongier and Geoffrey Kondogbia. There should also be no changes in attack with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Amine Harit and Iliman Ndiaye all keeping their places.
Marseille likely XI vs Lille:
Pau López – Jonathan Clauss, Chancel Mbemba, Samuel Gigot, Renan Lodi – Geoffrey Kondogbia, Valentin Rongier, Jordan Veretout – Amine Harit, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Iliman Ndiaye
