AS Monaco captain Wissam Ben Yedder has been absent for the club’s two most recent matches. He missed the first after being suspended by the club for missing a group meeting, and the second due to an accumulation of yellow cards. Against Olympique Lyonnais, his return will be welcomed.
Monaco have had problems in attack in the past weeks. Breel Embolo has been injured since mid-March and only made his comeback in a cameo appearance against Lille OSC last week. He replaced Myron Boadu, who went off with a muscular injury, and he is therefore not included in the matchday squad. Kevin Volland, meanwhile, was in the stands at the Stade Louis II last weekend after sustaining a knee injury. The German returns to the group this weekend, but like Embolo, his knee was taped up during Wednesday’s training session at La Turbie, attended by Get French Football News.
Malang Sarr remains absent, whilst Gelson Martins and Jean Lucas miss out on the matchday squad. Both look surplus to requirements at the Principality club.
