Speaking at a press conference on Friday, AS Monaco sporting director Thiago Scuro was tight-lipped when asked about Nottingham Forest’s reported bid for Youssouf Fofana (24).
The Athletic reported on Thursday that Monaco were prepared to accept Nottingham Forest’s bid for the France international, which is thought to be worth €35m. The Premier League side are reportedly engaged in talks with the player’s representatives, however, it was previously reported by RMC Sport that Fofana was uninterested in a move to Nottingham Forest.
Questioned about the existence of the bid by Get French Football journalist Luke Entwistle, Scuro didn’t give a lot away. “I can confirm that I have read the rumours,” said the Brazilian sporting director, who replaced Paul Mitchell at the Principality club this summer.
He added, “It’s natural that the market is showing interest in him. It’s part of this club’s history and the player deserves it. We are working on this, aligned with his wishes and ambition. Let’s see. Before 31st August, a lot can happen.”
Get French Football News attended first-team training at the club’s performance centre in La Turbie on Friday and can confirm that the player trained with the group as normal, amid the reported interest.
