Newcastle interested in Nice’s Khéphren Thuram

The Athletic are reporting that Newcastle United are interested in OGC Nice midfielder Khéphren Thuram (22), who recently made his debut for the France national team.

According to the English publication, Khéphren Thuram is liked by Newcastle’s head of recruitment, Steve Nickson. However, the Magpies could have big competition for his signature come the summer. The Nice midfielder has been frequently linked with a move to Ligue 1 reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Téléfoot were the latest to link the AS Monaco academy product to PSG, where he could potentially reunite with former manager Christophe Galtier, with whom he worked last season. Les Parisiens have long since been rumoured to be interested in Khéphren’s brother, Marcus, who will be available as a free agent in the summer.

Newcastle are also interested in Marcus Thuram, according to The Athletic, and are asking to be kept informed of the Borussia Mönchengladbach forward’s situation. It remains to be seen whether they can compete with wages that will be potentially offered by other clubs.
