Neymar set to resume full training with PSG next week

PSG forward Neymar (31) is set to resume collective training with Les Parisiens as early as next week, according to a report from Le Parisien. The 31-year-old Brazil international has been out of contention after sustaining ankle ligament damage during a Ligue 1 match against Lille on February 19th. The most expensive player ever then underwent a season-ending surgery the following month at Doha’s Aspetar Hospital. Four months after the operation, Neymar is close to making his return to full training.

The French publication report that the Brazilian, as well as France international full-back Nordi Mukiele, was individually training for the first time at PSG’s brand-new training centre at Poissy. The 31-year-old reportedly felt no pain or discomfort whilst training with and without the ball. Le Parisien understand that Neymar is expected to be gradually eased into full team training as early as next week. It remains to be seen whether Neymar would be able to take part in Luis Enrique’s double training sessions. The Brazilian is set to miss out on PSG’s first pre-season game against Le Havre next Friday. He is set to partake in the club’s Japan Tour from next Saturday.
