According to Le Parisien, the Moroccan national team, who surprised the world with their unprecedented 4th place finish at the last World Cup, will face off against FIFA’s top-ranked team, Brazil, in a friendly match in Tanger during the spring break. The match is expected to be exciting and attract a lot of public interest.
The Brazilian squad, who were disappointed to be eliminated in the quarterfinals by Croatia at the World Cup, will take on the Atlas Lions on March 25th at the Grand Stade de Tanger. The match will feature PSG teammates, Brazilian Neymar and Moroccan Achraf Hakimi, facing each other. Neymar had previously left doubt about his future with the Brazilian team, but recently revealed that he could continue to play for them until the 2026 World Cup.
This will be the only match for the “Seleção” during the spring FIFA dates, as stated by the CBF. Ednaldo Rodrigues, the federation’s president, has commented that “this is the beginning of a new cycle for Brazilian football” and hopes to “start against a formidable opponent, Morocco. It will be a good test.” While waiting for the appointment of a new permanent coach, Ramon Menezes, the U20 coach, will take over as interim coach for the Seleção.
