Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo nearing Manchester United move

L’Équipe are reporting that Jean-Clair Todibo (23) is nearing a move to Manchester United. The Frenchman is reportedly valued at around €40m.

Todibo has been touted as Harry Maguire’s replacement at Manchester United. However, despite no departure in sight for the England international, Todibo’s arrival at Manchester United still looks to be nearing. L’Équipe are reporting that the former Barcelona defender’s move to Old Trafford is “in sight.”

Benjamin Pavard was also considered as a defensive reinforcement at Manchester United, and the Bayern Munich defender is appreciated by Erik Ten Hag. However, Pavard is in discussions with Inter Milan, and the Serie A side’s CEO has revealed that the France international is keen on a move to the San Siro.

Manchester United are instead closing in on a move for Todibo. The defender, whose contract runs until 2027, was named as vice-captain by Francesco Farioli at the start of the season, despite doubts surrounding his future. Manchester United scouts watched Todibo play against Lille OSC in the Ligue 1 curtain-raiser, and have seemingly been sufficiently convinced to make their move.
