Official | Aaron Ramsey leaves Nice after agreement on contract termination

Nice have tonight announced that Aaron Ramsey has left the club, after an agreement was reached in order to terminate his contract, one year after his arrival on a free transfer from Juventus.

Although earlier reports indicated that the veteran midfielder was keen to extend his stay on the French Riviera, the Welsh international now looks set for a return to his boyhood club Cardiff City, as confirmed by Nice-Matin. He had recently extended his contract for another year in France, and had reportedly been keen on staying on the Côte d’Azur with his family beyond that date.

The former Arsenal man will have made a total of 34 appearances, scoring his only goal within a minute of coming on for his debut against Toulouse, on the opening weekend of the Ligue 1 campaign. The 32-year-old had joined Les Aiglons in the wake of an injury-blighted spell on the other side of the Alps, which would culminate in a loan spell at Rangers
