Official | Aleksandr Golovin extends Monaco contract to 2026

Monaco have this afternoon announced that midfielder Aleksandr Golovin has extended his contract by another two years, taking his time with the Principality club up to 2026.

The 26-year-old is currently on his fifth season with Monaco, having joined from CSKA Moscow back in 2018 off the back of an impressive World Cup with Russia for a reported €30m, the Ligue 1 side fending off the likes of Chelsea to his signature.

He has made 166 appearances in all competitions, totalling 20 goals and 26 assists in that time. His six goals this campaign have seen him reach his best total over the course of a league season already, his six assists also key in helping Philippe Clement’s team rise to third in the table as things stand.

As reported earlier this month by L’Équipe and confirmed by Get French Football News there was an initial desire from both parties to move ahead with renewal talks, Golovin’s previous deal expiring at the end of next season.
