Honduran international and Bordeaux striker Alberth Elis (26) has completed a loan move with a permanent option to relegation-battling side Brest, the clubs have announced. Elis was already training with his new Brest teammates this Monday following his medical. The 56-cap Honduran international striker will wear the #17 jersey with Les Ty Zefs. The Brittany outfit and Les Girondins have reportedly agreed a €500k loan with a €5.1m mandatory purchase clause, and clause will be triggered if Brest manage to steer clear of a Ligue 2 relegation. The team left the 4-spot drop zone this Sunday by piling the misery on bottom-placed Angers with a 4-0 humbling.

Elis scored nine goals in 20 Ligue 1 games with Bordeaux during their fateful 2021-2022 season when they finished last, and has scored only one goal in 16 Ligue 2 outings with the Aquitaine side this season. Elis’ arrival looks a smart move for Brest, who were in need of attacking options following the transfer of Irvin Cardona (25) to Bundesliga side Augsburg.
