Lyon have officially confirmed the appointment of Italian coach Fabio Gross as the club’s new manager. The former Juventus youth coach will be present for the game on Sunday against Le Havre and will be officially presented to the media on Monday.
OL had approached Graham Potter and Oliver Glasner over the possibility of becoming the new head coach at the Groupama Stadium but both rejected the opportunity. Following these rejections, Genarro Gatusso was expected to be appointed but with negative reactions from the fans and with the board in disagreement alternatives were pursued. The club finally decided on Grosso.
Grosso was instrumental for Frosinone last season as they were promoted to Serie A, he gained lots of plaudits for the positive style of football his team played. Jean-François Vulliez and Jérémie Bréchet who have taken charge of first-team training this week will coach the team for Sunday’s match against Le Havre.
