Official | Félix Lemarechal joins Brest on loan from Monaco

AS Monaco’s Félix Lemarechal (19) has joined Stade Brestois on loan until the end of the season. The deal does not include an option to make the loan permanent with the Principality club counting on the academy product for the future.

In competition with Mohamed Camara, Youssouf Fofana, Eliot Matazo, Jean Lucas and Soungoutout Magassa in the Monaco midfield, Lemarechal has failed to establish himself as a fixture within Les Monégasques midfield. He has featured on the teamsheet twice but has failed to get onto the pitch this season.

As a result, the captain of the club’s Groupe Élite has joined Ligue 1 rivals Brest until the end of the season. The club are currently embroiled in a relegation battle, currently sitting 16th in the division.

The loan will allow Lémarechal to accrue crucial first-team experience between now and the end of the season before returning to the Principality in the summer and competing for a place in the Monaco midfield.
