Official | Ignacio Miramón joins Lille

Lille OSC have officially announced the arrival of Argentine prospect Ignacio Miramón (20). L’Équipe understands that Lille and Gimnasia La Plata have thrashed out a €6m deal for the U20 Argentine international. The 20-year-old has signed a five-year deal with Les Dogues. Miramón is set to wear the #20 jersey with Paulo Fonseca’s side. Lille have recently stepped up their efforts to bolster the Portuguese’s outfit. This Thursday, Les Dogues have also announced the arrival of Fulham winger Ivan Cavaleiro.

Miramón is a defensive midfielder. Therefore, he is expected to compete with reliable 33-year-old Benjamin André for a starting spot in Fonseca’s midfield. The Argentine is Lille’s seventh signing of the summer following the arrivals of goalkeeper Lisandru Olmeta, centre-back and free agent Samuel Umtiti, right-back Tiago Santos, attacking midfielder Hákon Arnar Haraldsson and left-wingers Aaron Malouda and Cavaleiro. “I had the dream from a very young age of signing for a big club like LOSC. Now I’m here and I’m really happy”, adds Miramón. Lille will start the Ligue 1 season on Friday with an away game at INEOS-owned OGC Nice.
